Mercury Tour as a company and Andrey Vereschagin as its managing director and main guide personally are glad to meet you as a visitor of their joint site.
It is an introduction to St.Petersburg – a tourist destination of the great demand, a window to Europe for Russia since 1703, the year of its foundation.
St.Petersburg – the biggest northern city located in 60th degree of the northern latitude. From this geographical position the glamour of the White Nights comes – with sun never fully setting in June. This event inspired many writers, composers, musicians – from Fyodor Dostoyevsky (to be the first one to use this simple expression in the name of his short novel) to Valery Gergiev who is in charge of the annual Stars of the White Nights festival at the Mariinsky theatre (known also after its Soviet-era name as the Kirov).
St.Petersburg is a city of European architecture – featuring stunning vistas and grandeur of ensembles created by great masters of XVIII – early XXth centuries, wide streets, clear perspectives, all styles of this period in its own perception from modest baroque of Peter I reign through sumptuous rococo, austere neo-classicism, mighty empire style to eclecticism, historicism and art nouveau.
St.Petersburg is a city of museums – first to mention the Hermitage with its almost 3 mln exhibits including Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck, Murillo, Monet, Matisse, Raphael, Leonardo and Michelangelo
St.Petersburg is a city of theatre and ballet – could you name another city in the world able to show 5 (five) Swan Lakes of Chaikovsky simultaneously?
St.Petersburg is a city of rivers, canals and bridges – with over 360 of them spanning water ways and 21 lifting their spans every night from April till October
St.Petersburg is a city to be reached by sea Baltic cruises for which it is a priority (the only place with 2-3-day stops)
St.Petersburg is a city of splendid suburbs boasting former Imperial gala and residential palaces
St.Petersburg is a city of weddings – with 4-5 limos with newlyweds to be met in every scenic spot in Summer weekends
…
What have I missed? You are welcome to add.

What can I add to all the mentioned?
50+ years of living in this great city, 14 years in tourist business, 13 years in guiding (with English being my first guiding language), some absorbed knowledge and feeling of the place – not just taken from books and the Internet…
To be less pathetic and more practical –
• Guiding for privates and groups in English and Russian (I can find French or German speaking guides – but prefer to respond for myself)
• Museums – according to your desire – from the most popular to specific ones
• Transportations – be it a private car (form economy class to limos), a bus, train or plane connections to other destinations including direct transfers to/from Finland
• Interpreter’s services (my personal experience covers interpreting of negotiations and seminars in different fields)
• Tickets to folklore, classic concerts, opera and ballet
• Arrangements of concerts for small parties in luxurious palatial interiors or Russian-style log cabin
• Accommodations – from luxurious to low-cost, from down-town to suburban
• Meals to fit your taste or diet – Russian or European cuisine, vegetarian, fish, kosher
• Tours with certain specifics – referring to British, American or Jewish relationships of our multi-ethnic city
• Visa support for the application for the Russian visas
• Visa free arrangements for sea cruise passengers
• Private guiding for individuals and mini-groups with maximum flexibility, no advance payments, last minute changes of programmes and payments as per actual services.
Our main principle for individual travellers: do not stick to a package. While making preliminary arrangements you sometimes do not properly evaluate venues, timing, possible weather, your own appreciation and condition. We try to be as flexible as possible – not charging in advance, canceling without forfeits, trying to insist on our own view – if it is opposite some common place. We try to follow a principle: “Eat what you really want and pay for what you have really eaten”.  Payments are based on hourly rates.
